The Gender Park will conduct active interventions into society through its empowerment projects. These are off-campus activities and include various projects which can be implemented throughout Kerala with a focus on the welfare of women and other genders. The projects are initiated as pilots and are then replicated only when the models prove to be sustainable.
The Gender Park aims to specifically increase government capacity and efficiency in gender, while providing opinions, reports, evaluations, and recommendations on government action in gender within the state. As a society under the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala, it is uniquely positioned to see that these recommendations are implemented by the government
The Gender Park hopes to engage in transformative research and education in the field of gender. Through the Gender Park’s International Institute for Gender and Development (IIGD) – a near complete 24 acre state of the art campus - the Park will engage in solution based knowledge management on different aspects of gender, development and governance, via fellowships, research and academic training modules.
