The Gender Park hosts a biennial conference named the International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE), with the aim of bringing together a global cross-section of scholars, practitioners, policy makers and professionals from around the world to a common platform to explore obstacles to gender-just development. The ICGE series aims to deepen the global dialogue for learning and action on different dimensions and dynamics of gender inequality and to present and share knowledge on good practices and innovative interventions. The second edition of the ICGE is due to be held in 2017.
The first International Conference on ‘Gender, Governance and Inclusion’ in association with UN Women was held in Kovalam in November 12- 14 2015. The focus of the first conference was on gender inequalities and the need to find different ways of strengthening inclusion of women and transgenders in the development process. ICGE-I saw over 75 national and international speakers, in addition to hosting the official release of the State Policy for Transgenders in Kerala.
